What got me into the solar business? Well the answer is rather simple, I had a piece of property where I had a well drilled and the nearest commercial power line was about 1 mile away. When I called the power company they gave me a quote of 16k to run power to my well. At this point my well driller gave me some alternative options of solar and wind, and they provided me cost estimates in the range of 10k. At this point both seemed out of my reach since I still had to pay for a newly drilled well, and I was determined that I could find a solution myself that I could save money if I tackled it on my own. At this point it took months of research and I was able to find an affordable solution that I was able to employ. I was able to intergrate solar arrays with a dc submersible well pump and I was able to pump water for our cattle and horses at half the cost the other solar companies quoted me. At that point I figured, I could do this for other folks and maybe make a few pennies out of the deal.
